2024 Dance/USA Exchange Circle with Indira Goodwine-Josias
2024 Dance/USA Exchange Circle with Indira Goodwine-Josias
Starts: 4:30 pm
Ends: 10/21/2024 - 6:00 pm
Location: https://us02web.zoom.us/j/85864852980
Description: Greetings,
Thank you for agreeing to participate in the 2024 Dance/USA Exchange Circle with Indira Goodwine-Josias (me).
I look forward to engaging in dialogue that will support Dance/USA as they look to continue to try and best meet the needs of the dance field.
In preparation for the dialogue, I have included some guided questions that were already sent via email below. These questions will support our time together.
1. What are ways you would like to connect with other people in the dance ecosystem?
2. What needs do you face that you believe could be addressed by a national dance service organization?
3. To build on that, we’d like to share a list of needs that have come up in a national survey this year regarding the well-being of the dance ecosystem. Can you share which of these needs feel most urgent or important? We will get into the “why” as part of our conversation together.
o Federal advocacy on behalf of creative workers active in the dance ecosystem
o Career development/training
o Dance research
o Application of technology
o Amplifying the national profile of dance
o Increased financial support for dance in the U.S.
o Convening the ecosystem: National Conferences
o Convening the ecosystem: Regional Dialogues
o Developing the next generation of leaders
o Ensuring the legacy of dance artists and organizations through archiving and preservation
o Medical and Health resources
4. If you are familiar with Dance/USA and their programs/services, what do you value most?
5. Is there anything based on your {i.e., location/ affinity/role] that feels important for Dance/USA to know? (i.e., specific need, challenge…)
6. Dance/USA’s values are Connectivity, Creativity, Equity, and Integrity. Do these values resonate with you and your practice of (or relationship to) dance? How so?
7. Is there anything else that feels important to share?
I look forward to speaking next week and hope you have a great day!
